The Heart of Our Mission

I am raising funds to launch Sun Rays and Healing Waves, a non-profit foundation established in honor of my son, Ray.

Shortly after the devastating loss of my son, I traveled to Edisto Beach, South Carolina. I went there broken. I wasn’t looking to lay out in the sun; I was searching for a reason to keep breathing without my son, my best friend. Joined by other grieving parents and grandparents, I discovered that the peace of the shore, combined with shared creativity and communal meals, offered a path toward healing that I didn’t think was possible.

Edisto Beach is special and hard for me to describe. There are no towering waterfront resorts, no neon lights, and the pace is slow. It was everything I needed and that is why we have been returning every year. Edisto is so healing for us, I knew it was my mission. I had to share that peace with other grieving families. Now, it is my purpose and I just know how many people will find the peace we have. This is deeply personal; my son Ray loved the water and I know he is right beside me and guiding me to do this.

This is the legacy I am building for Ray: a sanctuary where other families can find that same breath of air when they feel they are drowning in grief.

Why Your Support Matters

I am leading a production mission to Edisto to capture the launch media for this foundation. This inaugural journey is officially supported by the South Carolina Lowcountry Tourism Commission, but we need your help to cover the essential logistics to make it a reality.

Your donations will directly fund:

• Group Transportation: Securing a safe, 8-passenger vehicle for the three-week mission to transport families and production equipment from New York to South Carolina.
• Media and Advocacy: Professional filming and editing of our mission vlogs to share the Edisto Experience with our community of 126,000+ followers, proving to other grieving parents that they are not alone.
• Foundation Launch: Finalizing the legal setup and the website that will serve as the permanent home for Sun Rays and Healing Waves.
• Healing Materials: Providing the art supplies, yoga sessions, and communal meals that facilitate the connection and peace we found on that shore.

This is our mission to build a lifeline for families navigating the unthinkable. Every dollar brings us closer to turning a mother’s brokenness into a sanctuary of hope.
